Baltimore City Police Aviation and Ground Units Track and Recover Stolen Cadillac CTS

  • October 17, 2011

The owner of a 2004 Cadillac CTS reported to the police that their vehicle was stolen from Wicklow Road in Baltimore City on April 23, 2011.  An officer responded to the scene and, after conducting a preliminary investigation and obtaining all of the vehicle information, completed a vehicle theft report. All the vehicle information was then entered into the Maryland Meters System, thus automatically activating LoJack.

Within minutes of the LoJack activation, flight officers assigned to the Baltimore City Police Department Aviation Unit received the silent LoJack homing signal with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer installed in their helicopter. The directional and audible signal of the LoJack System took officers to Manorview Road in Baltimore City. The flight officers notified patrol units on the ground, who responded, located and recovered the unoccupied vehicle.

The total time from LoJack activation to recovery was only 55 minutes!
