Update: May 15 – Two More Camaro Recoveries in Bay Area
Barely a month after the original post, and we’ve seen two more Chevrolet Camaro recoveries in Bay Area. The first is a 2015 Camaro SS that was reported stolen and found in Oakland. The second Camaro Recovery was found by the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force in Oakland. The 2013 Camaro ZL1 was found unoccupied, but surveillance was set up on the vehicle and later that night two arrests were made as the suspects as they began the process of chopping the Camaro up for parts.
Both vehicles were stored for release to their owners.

Owners of a newer Chevrolet Camaro need to be aware of how attractive their car is to thieves. LoJack helps recover thousands of cars each year. Right now, the areas around San Jose, Oakland and San Francisco are a hot bed of auto theft, especially for the new model Chevy Camaro.
Multiple Camaro Recoveries in the Bay Area
California is already the #1 state for LoJack-equipped recoveries in the U.S. during 2016. The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System helped law enforcement to recover a number of Chevy Camaros in California already this year. Three were recovered this last month in the Bay Area (2012 Camaro SS, and a 2014 Camaro, both recovered in Oakland), culminating in a recent recovery of a 2011 Chevy Camaro SS that ended in arrests by the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force. That recovery also uncovered a chop shop with parts to several Camaros that were stolen this year.
If you have a Chevy Camaro, and especially if you live in the Bay Area, consider protecting your investment. If you want to avoid loss due to this type of auto theft, LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery can be a good choice.
