Celebrity’s Classic Cars Fair Game for Thieves
- August 30, 2012
What do television psychologist Dr. Phil and movie star John Travolta have in common? Over the past several months, each has had his classic vehicle stolen from a dealership or repair shop. Dr. Phil’s ’57 Chevy and John Travolta’s vintage 1970 Mercedes were each the target of thieves — and in the case of Travolta’s Mercedes, the thieves were a sophisticated theft ring that actually chopped up the vehicle. Had these vehicles been equipped with LoJack for Classics, perhaps the outcome would not have been so dire.
LoJack for Classics is designed specifically to meet the requirements of classic cars and as such does not does not draw energy from the vehicle’s battery and does not need to be connected to its electrical system. LoJack for Classics, which is a covert system, also leverages all of the proven elements that have enabled the company’s flagship product to earn a better than 90 percent recovery success rate, including highly effective Radio Frequency technology and direct integration with police.
Ted Saraf, LoJack Law Enforcement Liaison, former detective with the Pasadena PD Vehicle Theft Unit, and classic car owner, is available to discuss this further. Please contact me at 781-861-5249 if you would like to set up an interview.
