The LoJack® System Helps Southern California Police Recover Stolen Honda CR-V in Four Minutes

  • August 1, 2013

The LoJack® system is known for helping police find stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles- usually in much less time than it would take without LoJack. This case is a prime example- a Honda CR-V taken from some California residents is recovered in just FOUR MINUTES after activation.

On July 8th, 2013, the Honda’s owners contacted the Hawthorne, CA Police to report that their SUV was stolen. Hawthorne PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the CR-V, which was installed at Gardena Honda in Gardena, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, flight officers with a Southern California police department picked up the homing signal from the Honda on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their air units. The flight officers located the vehicle in the area of Florence Ave and Denker Ave. Patrol officers  responded to the location. Officers observed five suspects enter the SUV and drive to a gas station. The vehicle was stopped and all five suspects were taken into custody. The CR-V was soon released to its relieved owners.
