What is the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System and how does it work?
The LoJack Product is a stolen vehicle recovery system that allows police to track and recover your stolen vehicle. A LoJack Unit is hidden in your vehicle by a certified technician and is registered in the LoJack database. When you file a stolen vehicle report with the police, police computers send a silent radio signal to your car. If your vehicle is within a LoJack coverage area, the LoJack Transceiver in your stolen vehicle is automatically activated, allowing police to track and recover your vehicle.

Can car thieves find my LoJack Unit and beat the system?

Why is there no exterior marking on the vehicle stating it has a LoJack System - wouldn't a LoJack sticker act as a theft deterrent?
The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System is not designed to be a deterrent. One of the major benefits of the product is that the LoJack System is covert, thus a thief does not know whether or not your vehicle is equipped with a LoJack System. This increases the likelihood of rapid recovery and minimal damage.

How is the LoJack Product different from other systems?
LoJack offers the only Stolen Vehicle Recovery System operated by police. It is based on wireless Radio Frequency technology. From ground or air, police can track the silent signal from your LoJack Unit whether it is in a garage, an underground parking facility, or in a warehouse. This differs from most GPS-based tracking systems, which require direct line-of-sight to their satellites.
