Westwood, MA - January 15, 2010 - LoJack Corporation (NASDAQ: LOJN) today announced three major recoveries in the past week in Southern California that resulted in the rescue of a four-year-old child, the recovery of more than $1,000,000 worth of construction equipment and vehicles, and the arrest of two car thieves. These recoveries demonstrate how LoJack’s Radio Frequency technology—which operates even if the vehicle is in a concrete garage, steel container or hidden in dense foliage—and direct integration with police help law enforcement, recover not only vehicles—but unwitting passengers—unharmed, bust major theft rings and arrest the thieves behind these and other more serious crimes.

Below are the three Southern California LoJack recoveries:
- In Granada Hills, a parent, whose four-year-old son was in the back seat, left the family’s Mazda SUV running momentarily to do a quick errand. In that few minutes span, the vehicle was stolen. The parent immediately notified local authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Division, who activated the vehicle’s LoJack System. Within four minutes, officers began tracking the silent Radio Frequency signal and recovered the stolen vehicle—and most importantly—rescued the unharmed child.
- Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station began tracking a LoJack-based Radio Frequency signal, which led them to a 60-acre rural lot in Northern Los Angeles County. In a remote area, detectives recovered a LoJack-equipped Bobcat Skid-Steer. Upon further investigation, they discovered 35 stolen vehicles and many other mobile assets including stolen motor homes, utility vehicles, boats, recreational and construction trailers, tractors, generators, welders and other off-road vehicles, valued at more than $1,000,000.
- A Pasadena Police Department helicopter picked up a LoJack signal and began tracking a 2003 GMC pickup truck that had been reported stolen in Altadena. The pilot and observer spotted the pickup and called patrol officers as the truck was being parked. The Pasadena Police immediately arrested a 17-year-old boy who was on probation for car theft and his 18-year-old companion.
